The Wright Family Foundation’s impact on rangatahi across Aotearoa

At Voices of Hope, we know that creating lasting change takes a community of people who care deeply about the wellbeing of others. One organisation that embodies this spirit is the Wright Family Foundation. Founded by the late humanitarian Chloe Wright, their mission is to continue her legacy by supporting initiatives across education, health, community development, music and the arts. From championing literacy and supporting parenting programmes, to funding innovative health research, grassroots community projects and music scholarships, the foundations reach is truly remarkable. Their generosity touches lives across Aotearoa, ensuring that more people can thrive and feel supported.

Voices of Hope is honoured to be one of the initiatives the Wright Family Foundation champions. Their support has made a profound difference in our work over the past two years, particularly through our school tours.

In 2024, the Foundation enabled us to visit 15 schools across the Bay of Plenty, inspiring thousands of rangatahi and role modelling what it means to speak up and seek support.

The first half of 2025 has been transformative for Voices of Hope. With the Wright Family Foundation’s continued support, we have delivered talks across four regions, reaching an incredible 18,820 young people with messages of hope, resilience, and the reminder that “it’s not weak to speak.” We began in February in our hometown of Auckland, speaking to more than 8,180 students. From there, we travelled to the Wellington/Wairarapa region, sharing our message with 4,440 students, before heading to Hawke’s Bay to connect with 2,400 students across multiple schools. We rounded out the term in the Nelson/Tasman area, where we spoke to 3,800 students.

A highlight of this journey was having Kylie from the Wright Family Foundation join us on the Nelson tour and see our mahi in action. Having her there was truly special and a reminder of the genuine care, encouragement, and belief the Foundation places in our mission.

Through these tours, we’ve been able to spark conversations, encourage help-seeking behaviours, and remind young people that they are not alone. This impact simply wouldn’t have been possible without the Wright Family Foundation.

We are deeply grateful for their vision and commitment — not only to Voices of Hope, but to so many vital initiatives across New Zealand. A simple search of their website showcases all the good they do for communities around NZ. Their support is helping create a future where young people feel heard, supported, and empowered.
