Milestones can be really hard to beat - trust me, I know! I have heaps of milestones I can and will hit but sometimes it feels impossible. You want to do better this time. But you’re not too sure how. Try to stick to determination. If you’re really determined, then it will happen! Don’t try and focus on milestones that are far into the future. Only stick to the ones that are coming up. That way, you don’t have to focus on the big picture.
What I’m doing currently to help myself is to track my progress through an app called I Am Sober. I’ve also started to reward myself for each milestone I make. I’ve currently got a reward wrapped and put away for a future milestone that’s coming up. It gives me something to look forward to and something to work towards. It’s for a specific milestone and I can only get it when I reach it. This gives me the motivation to keep going and not restart.
If I restart, then it’s going to take longer for me to get what I’ve wrapped. Maybe you could try this too? It works for me so far and so, I think you should give it a shot! After all, what have you got to lose?
