Harsh Realities

There are many harsh realities of depression and anxiety. The main one being that your brain contradicts what someone says to you if it is something positive.

Someone could be telling you that you are valued and loved in the environment that you’re in. However, your mind is telling you the opposite of what you are hearing, that you are unloved, you don’t fit in and that you shouldn’t be where you are.

This is not true at all! You ARE loved, you DO belong. It can be so hard to believe. That’s why when someone tells you these things, you must write them down and put them somewhere safe so you can go back to read them when you begin to believe the opposite of what is true.

So, my friend, I will leave you with this: you ARE loved. You DO belong. You DO fit in. You ARE enough. You ARE worthy.
