The Time Will Pass Anyway

A concept I heard the other day from the ever-lovely Erin Donohue was ‘the time will pass anyway.’ She said she'd heard it from somewhere else and it was something that took me a minute, but then I realised the potential of such a reminder.

We often put off starting something, don't feel we can start a new venture, or wait until ‘the right time.’ But there is very rarely ever a right time. This applies to so much. Maybe you want to sign up to study a new skill or a degree, but are worried it will take too long - but the time will pass anyway. You might want to go to an event, but feel like you don’t look a certain way yet - but the time will pass anyway. Maybe you want to work on healing, but you don’t know if it’s the right time - but the time will pass anyway. Whether you spend an hour doing something or not, that hour will pass anyway.

This idea is something that I feel is so important to remember. Sometimes, we can feel stuck or that thinking about the future and our journey can be overwhelming. Yet, if you want to do something or work on something, why not go for it now? Now is as good a time as any other. If you’re waiting for the perfect time, you could be waiting quite some time.

If you want to start your healing journey, or learn something new, start a new activity or job or anything else, the time will pass anyway. You don’t have to wait for the perfect time, make now the right time. Believe in yourself enough to pursue your goals and see what happens.
